‘Why is the sky blue, Laila?’
‘So we feel safe, Joshua.’
‘Why is the earth brown then?’
‘So we feel nurtured.’
‘What about trees? Why are they green?’
‘So we feel the love.’
‘Why don’t I feel these then?’
‘You do. You just didn’t learn to understand them. For that, read yourself.’
This is very true of people. I have just in the past year opened myself up to learning how to truly feel. Not specifically emotions but life whether it be a plant or animal. I have learned so much in this time but in doing this I have come to see that we as a people have closed ourselves to this and if we could reopen our eyes, minds, and hearts things would be completely different and better for us all.

This is great! Can you share some of what you learnt?

I would be happy to.
1. Life as in all of our lives are so much more than we realize. We are all connected. Some more strongly than others. Even from continents away the bonds are there. What ashok posted in his friendship post is true. As are all of his posting.
2. Love is more than a word or feeling we share with those closest to us. It is essential for all of us to incorporate it into our lives. It is more important than we understand.
3. There are entities that we may call guardian angels, spirit or spirit guides.
4. That there is so much to our world seen and unseen that we do not know, want to know or even know how to begin to comprehend.

Writing followed me my whole life. Poet will be on my tombstone. I tried to take breaks from writing but poetry always bugged me till I wrote them down. I was glad to find haiku …it’s shorter than rhyming poems. Never ignore writing if you feel the urge.

I ignored my writing instincts for years but here I am! Indeed, we should not ignore it!

I’ve always written. But the writing changed in ways over the years.as a young girl and teenager I wrote rhyming poetry about life and boys etc.. In my early 20’s it was lyrics .,I had a musician co writer, I wrote lyrics for well over ten years. On a daily basis. Then later it was free verse and rhyme..now haiku has hold of me. …

Wow! Such variation! For me, it was short stories as a kid, short stories now. Keep going, both of us!

There’s so much power in this short poem.
Often we (human) overlook or fail to understand the true meaning of life and the meaning of its content. Often obscure our judgment, let our senses be deceived, overlook the simple/meaningful “things”.
