Let’s continue with stories to complete:) Please complete the following sentence in a few (or more) sentences:)
They were really good friends back in college. They had worked in the same company for a few years after as well. Then, Jane had done something Danielle had not expected: She had lied about her to their boss to get a promotion and she had succeeded. She had somehow convinced the boss that she was more hardworking, more reliable, overall more apt for the position. If there was fair competition, Danielle could have as well taken the promotion.
She remembered these moments as she looked at the text in front of her that Jane had sent after years, asking for a meeting. It was surprising but Danielle was also curious. She started typing. [Your continuation]
Too long have I suffered with resentment. It is time to make amends. When and where can we meet?

Hi there,
How interesting to hear from you! What’s up? I heard, you got fired at you last job. Any new perspectives?
Anyways, if you are interested in a position, I might offer you one. Meanwhile I’m the CEO at a fortune 500 company and I might help you to get back on track. Maybe you would like to work with Eric again? Remember him? Our former manager, who promoted you?
Well, you might have heard that he got fired. Poor decision making. Did you know, that he was homeless for about two years? I saw him on the street and well, got him a job as a facility manager. He needs help, since the company I’m running is growing like hell! Any interest? If so, contact HR and tell them I’m your reference. Who knows, I might not tell HR about you work ethic.
Take care,
Danielle

Wow, that is karma at work! I like it that you express resentment under the cover of giving out an olive branch.

The message started professionally enough. Pleasantries showed through the passive-aggressive tone. Yet it began to devolve quickly. Grammar was forgotten, spelling did not matter. Expletives took the place of other common words. Her concluding words promised things she could never deliver. As she sat back and looked over the text, she smiled. Then, deleting them, she finally replied: “Sounds great! I’d love to catch up!:
