Let’s finish up this story:
Today was going to be a hard day. She woke up at 4 am, as it would take a bit longer to get ready for the interview. She got dressed, grabbed a few bites as breakfast and went out. When she reached the company’s building, she took a deep breath. She walked in, found the interview room and started waiting outside. After a half-hour wait, she heard her name. They were finally calling her. [Your continuation goes here].
Her heart was racing. She was getting a little nervous. With all these feelings she entered the interview room.. and there as she saw the interviewer.. the old friend from her childhood whom she had not met from long time. The anxiety disappeared and both of them were happy to see each other..
This is what comes to my mind😁😊

Very nice ending! I am happy that she was relieved in the interview room. It is a stressful situation.

Taking a deep breath, she stepped into the room. “Congratulations! You’ve won $100,000 from our company!” Startled, “Am I supposed to be interviewed soon?” She couldn’t even say a thank you or anything relevant for this accident. “I……” “Oh, do forgive us and let us explain this to you for a little while. You’re the lucky winner for the ‘2020 draw mission’ this year. Our company has been having this secret policy since years, to help random people achieve their dreams every year. Since you wrote in your resume that you’d like to be an entrepreneur who changes people’s lives, you may take the money and fulfill your mission. Only, with one condition, keep this a secret until you succeeded,” said the kind-looking lady in her clean suit. “Um… Well… This is unbelievable. Thank you very much.” Walking out of the company, with a cheque in her palm, she could see the ladies studying hard for exams, ignoring their Indian husbands’ scoldings, in a public school she built, 10 years later from now.

She knew that this was going to be tough for her but she took a deep breath, gathered all the courage that was left in her small petite frame and prepared herself, both mentally and physically, to face him. She entered the room, it was spacious and bright. The man who left her and her mom when she was barely a year old, stood there near the large glass window, with his back facing her. He had no idea who she was and neither she had any intention of telling him, what was the point now. She coughed a little, at which he turned around and said “Good Morning, Ms Williams! Please, have a seat.”
“My name is Amelia Jones, Mr Williams”, she said with confusion on her face.
“I know your first name, you are the daughter of Olivia Jones”, he said with a strange look in his eyes. A look which didn’t reveal anything but said a lot.
“So, you know? You have known all this while?”, she asked trying very hard to hide the hurt on her face and braced herself for the answer which she already knew; she had known all along, all her life.
“Yes, I know! I was goin…”, was all she heard him say before she walked out of that door with a resolve of never coming back.

Oh, this was a surprise. I love the ending very much! It must be hard for her to face this, as you described. But I think she did the right thing by not interacting with him.

Thank you! I am glad that you like it 🙂 I think so too, there was no point in talking with him now when he was least bothered all these years.
