Let’s complete this story this week:
The baby was tiring. Running after him for hours. That was not her thing. She had looked after the baby for some hours now and she could feel her brain exploding, her body crumbling. She wanted to let the baby be for a bit while she took a brief rest in the other room. While she was doing that, she heard a loud sound coming from the room where the baby was. [Your continuation goes here]
What was the sound?

I wonder what it was! Did something happen to the baby?

Exactly, much suspense there, thank you very much!

I will live with that suspense, I guess:)

But that’s what makes a good story, let people fill in the gaps for themselves, or try to guess what it is the author meant.

She leapt up and ran to the other room….heart pounding….the baby was fine. Everything was fine. Not a thing out of place. She realized the sound was her own guilt crashing down upon her. Her guilt about not wanting a child…..but guilt isn’t going to get her through the day…..she just needed to own up to the responsibility. A child is a privilege. She just needed to remember that

That is a very good perspective! I like this! It must have been a shock effect on her.

When she went inside, the book shelf was lying on the ground. All the shelves were scattered and the glass was broken from falling from height. The baby was crying relentlessly. She ran quickly towards him to see if he was injured. There were no bruises. She heaved a sigh of relief and grabbed the baby in her arms.

I like this! Babies usually survive such big accidents somehow! They are protected!

she leaped to her feet and tore the the room apart and the baby was nowhere to be found. Her heart raced as she called her name, looking behing everything she could think of, under the bed, behind the door, under the sheet in the ajoining bathroom with no luck. she called her husband and he was there in flash and together continued the search. Maybe she went into another room or worse could someone have taken her? Their hearts were pounding, sweat pouring from their forehead, they were trembling with fear that gripped them by the throat. Tears flowing, screaming, scared, angry and now yelling at each other for her neglect of taking a minute for herself. They dialed 911 and the fire engines were driving up the hill. They sunk to the floor in a puddle of tears and there behind the door was the and the baby curled up in the dog bed with fluffy snoring, fast asleep.

The baby had pulled the cat’s tail, and the cat didn’t like it. As she made her way towards the other room a black streak flashed between her legs.

That made me laugh especially because my friend’s daughter behaved exactly like that to their cat!

She ran and found the baby in the kitchen, with a pan on his head. She started laughing, and took out two pots and 2 wooden spoons and taught the baby how to bang on the pots and pans. The baby seemed to enjoy the noises and had good coordination. Maybe he’ll grow up to be a drummer, she wondered…

Oh maybe he will! Imagining how the baby tried to coordinate made me smile. Such a cute picture there!
